Cuba information: Cuban music and dance
Musician life of Cuba is as colourful as the country itself. Rumba, this erotic Afro-Cuban music style is an essential part of the feasts. Besides rumba mainly the older inhabitants like danzon (mixture of Cuban folk dance and dance of slaves) very much. We can hear the music of Cuban life, salsa everywhere at anytime. We can also see people dancing cha-cha-cha in the bars. Music of the 50’s, jazz is still played in clubs or courtyards. Young people like the new style: reggaeton - you can hardly hear anything else in discotheques. We can tell that music and dance is the part of the Cuban life!

Most of the Cuban films are based on humour, romance and music. The subject is usually from the real life. Well-known film is the Oscar nominated Strawberry and Chocolate from 1944. Another world famous movie from the 90’s is about the world-famous music band, Buena Vista Social Club. Diary of motorists tells the story of CHE Guevara’s journey in South - America - it’s not a Cuban movie but the makers got much help from local people.

Those who like water sports can dive (watching wrecks, walls or corals) or hire a water bike, boat, jet ski, ship or to sail out.
The ones who prefer staying on the beach can not only sun-bathe but also play table tennis, beach football or volleyball with friends or just relax with a massage under the palm trees.
Kids are always impressed by the aquarium or zoo while adults like walking in the botanical garden or visiting the tobacco / coffee / banana plantations. And this is not all: who would like to know the local culture better those can learn to dance salsa, splice cigar or visit the most important places of cities from the 16th, 17th and 18th century such as factories and museums operating for hundreds of years.
If you like extreme sports you can go on a tour in the jungle or rainforest or ride a horse.
Nightlife: when the sun sets Cuba wakes up and you can join the fiestas, concerts or watch the spectacular shows, dance in bars, discotheques or the special places called Casa de la Musica. Businessmen can light a cigar or drink a cocktail with the partner in the pool.
