Cuba news - Obligatory medical insurance for tourists

According to a government measure published last weekend obligatory medical insurance will be introduced for tourists visiting Cuba.
The measure will take effect in May and it will allow foreign companies (approved by Cuban government) and Cuban firms to sell the insurance. Tourists will be able to buy it upon arriving to the country at the border.
The Cuban government measure decrees that all tourists and foreigners arriving to Cuba and all the Cubans who are living abroad and return to visit will have to be insured.
Diplomats and representatives of accredited international organizations won't have to pay the insurance.
Yet the cost of the insurance is not determined.
Cuba is proud of its strong and stabile medical system that provides free medical service for Cuban citizens and it has only low costs for foreigners too.
Unfortunately the global crisis reached the Caribbean country too, so they had to find some new resources to raise its waned financial reserves.
Tourism is the main source of income in Cuba. In 2009, 2.42 million visitors arrived to the most exciting country of the Caribbean.
